Something Borrowed

I didn't get the chance to read Something Borrowed
And it doesn't help when "betrayed" friend is too self-centered and self-absorbed to feel much sympathy for. It also doesn't help that we're stuck with a guy who, despite a law degree and a successful career, can't step up to the plate in any other aspect of his life. Then there's the tortured Rachel who we see settle for second best for most of the film. AHHHHHHH! I actually really liked Rachel because she came off as the most realistic for me. But it took too long for her to look out for herself which made it difficult to root for her.
I suppose Darcy (played by Kate Hudson) could have come off as eccentric and vibrant, alive with energy and life. Instead she was insufferable, annoying, selfish and completely unlikeable. Aside from a few glimpses of niceness, she was unredeemable for me. Her "friendship" came on her time, in her way, and on her terms. No thanks.
I give the film 2 stars....mostly for being able to get a rise out of me. Plus Goodwin and Krasinski were endearing characters.
On a side note: It was nice to see Colin Egglesfield again. I loved him on his stint on All My Children. :)
